This sculpture is a work from Bruno Catano’s “Les Voyageurs” series, showing the image of a traveler. The upper body of the figure is completely missing from the chest to the abdomen, as if part of the self has been lost on the way, while the lower body is still intact and stands firmly. The right leg and one arm of the figure remain intact, and the missing parts form a strong visual contrast. The travel bag in the Statue Man with Suitcase is held in the figure’s hand, symbolizing the burden of the journey and the goal of moving forward.
The Man with Suitcase Sculpture is made of bronze, and the details are very fine. The folds of the figure’s clothes and muscle lines are accurately carved. Through this design of missing upper body, the Statue Man with Suitcase conveys the loneliness and emptiness of travel, as well as the part of self that people lose in complex environments. Sculptures placed in urban or natural environments enhance this feeling of “missing”, as if there is a certain gap between people and the environment, and the audience can also feel the inner emptiness and the constant pursuit of self. Arturban statue can customize various replica statues. Welcome to contact us for more details.
