Pozharsky joined forces with merchant Kuzma Minin to recruit volunteers and successfully liberated Moscow, laying the foundation for the establishment of the Romanov dynasty in the future. Pozharsky was not only an outstanding military leader, but also a symbol of the unity and courage of the Russian people in times of crisis. The Prince Pozharsky Relief in Moscow’s Cathedral of Christ the Savior vividly reproduces this period of history.

He holds a battle flag with a firm gaze, as if to encourage the soldiers around him to fight bravely. On one side of the relief, a clergyman (Abate Dionysius) holds a religious book and blesses Prince Pozharsky, symbolizing the spiritual support of religion for military operations. The sculpture is rich in details, and the expressions and postures of the characters are full of tension and a vivid historical atmosphere.
